The Island

Sanday is the largest of Orkney’s Northern Isles.  It is the ideal place for a family holiday,a romantic getaway or a tranquil retreat.  There is a vast variety of wildlife on the island, including birds, seals and otters. There are many sights to see on Sanday, from Start Point Lighthouse (which has unique vertical stripes rather then horizontal stripes due to it’s height) to Quoyness Cairn.  Sanday is rich in archaeology and wildlife, there are several fantastic beaches like Cata Sands with it’s spectacular sand dunes.  The views are we inspiring.  The island can be a great inspirational area for those who love to write or sketch.
